As circunstâncias indicam que a suspeita recai sobre a possibilidade de a pequena ter ingerido inadvertidamente um fragmento de alimento ou um objeto minúsculo, levando-a à asfixia.
No momento fatídico, a adorável Elizabeth Coffey, uma criança britânica, encontrava-se acompanhada de seus pais, Michael e Elizabeth, juntamente com uma numerosa congregação de aproximadamente 30 familiares e amigos.
