Bolsonaro Pode Solicitar Devolução de Joias Sauditas Após Decisão do TCU
O Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU) recentemente estabeleceu que ex-ocupantes do Palácio do Planalto têm o direito de manter presentes de caráter pessoal, como relógios e joias. Essa decisão favorece diretamente o ex-presidente Jair Bolsonaro, que agora planeja requisitar a devolução de um valioso conjunto de joias sauditas, estimado em R$ 5 milhões.
Esta determinação segue um recurso apresentado pela Advocacia-Geral da União (AGU) e pelo Ministério Público Federal (MPF) concernente a um relógio da marca Cartier, avaliado em R$ 60 mil, que havia sido recebido pelo presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva em seu primeiro mandato.
Durante uma entrevista concedida ao jornalista Claudio Dantas, Bolsonaro revelou suas intenções de leiloar as joias e doar os recursos para a Santa Casa de Juiz de Fora. “Meu objetivo é leiloar as joias e destinar o valor arrecadado para a Santa Casa de Juiz de Fora”, declarou Bolsonaro.
Adicionalmente, a decisão do TCU possibilita que a defesa de Bolsonaro peça o arquivamento do inquérito relacionado às joias sauditas, alegando que a questão do seu direito de posse já foi esclarecida. O tribunal também eximiu Lula de responsabilidades legais sobre presentes recebidos em seus mandatos, anteriormente investigados na Operação Lava Jato e posteriormente arquivados.
Em agosto de 2024, durante uma visita ao Recife, Bolsonaro já havia expressado seu desejo de doar o valor das joias para a mesma instituição beneficente de Minas Gerais, reforçando seu compromisso após ter sido socorrido lá em seguida ao ataque que sofreu durante a campanha eleitoral de 2018. “Assim que recuperar o conjunto, vou leiloá-lo e doar o montante para a Santa Casa de Juiz de Fora”, afirmou naquela ocasião.
