Haddad culpa a gestão de Bolsonaro pelo aumento da Selic
Fernando Haddad, o Ministro da Fazenda, declarou nesta quinta-feira (20) que o recente aumento da taxa básica de juros para 14,25% ao ano é resultante da administração anterior, sob Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Em sua participação no programa “Bom Dia, Ministro”, transmitido pela EBC, Haddad destacou que as decisões tomadas durante a última reunião do Copom sob a gestão de Roberto Campos Neto, indicado por Bolsonaro, predeterminaram os recentes ajustes na Selic.
“Esta elevação já estava prevista desde a última reunião do Copom no ano passado. Sob a liderança do ex-presidente do Banco Central, nomeado por Bolsonaro, foram programados três aumentos significativos na Selic”, explicou o ministro.
Haddad enfatizou a delicadeza da transição no Banco Central, comparando-a com a responsabilidade que ele mesmo enfrentou ao suceder Paulo Guedes. “Não é possível simplesmente mudar drasticamente de direção assim que se assume o cargo; há uma herança complexa a ser gerenciada”, comentou.
Além disso, o ministro expressou confiança na competência da atual equipe do Banco Central. “Os técnicos do Banco Central são altamente respeitados e qualificados. Estou confiante de que eles desempenharão suas funções com excelência para reduzir a inflação aos níveis desejados”, acrescentou Haddad, reiterando o compromisso do governo em cooperar com o Banco Central para atingir as metas de inflação estipuladas.
“Estamos todos empenhados em cumprir nossas responsabilidades para melhorar a economia do país”, concluiu.
